The long running Howard Prairie Regatta is now the Southern Cascade Regatta. The new named regatta follows a long tradition of great sailing at a beautiful mountain location. The name change goes along with a host of changes to improve the racing and management of the regatta. Mark your calendars July 28 & 29 and consider sailing this regatta as you make your way home from the "SantanaFest 2012" Class Championships.
WSC invites Santana 20 racers to the 2012 Memorial Day Regatta on May 26 & 27. Racing is on Whiskeytown Lake, near Redding California.

Nine Santana 20 boats came out for racing over the Nov. 19/20 weekend at Mission Bay YC where local speedster Pete Hunter completed all six races in no less than 2nd place to win. For full results, click here.
Meet our Newest Fleet Fleet 32 of Long Lake, Maine!
Our
wonderful Class has enjoyed the creation of 4 new fleets in the last 5
years. Quite an accomplishment when you consider where the economy is and
the general state of sailing. The good people of the Lake Region Sailing
Club, led by their spark plug and all-around great guy, Paul Follansbee,
have put together the newest fleet in our Santana 20 family. Long Lake is
located about 50 miles NW of Portland, Maine, in one of the most picturesque
areas of an already beautiful state.
If you want to feel good about our Class and our boat, the best way to tell the story is to quote Paul directly from a series of e-mails that we have been exchanging over the last couple of months. At the recently concluded Class Championships, the Association held its annual general meeting where, among other things, officers were elected. Please welcome Brian Genovese (Pres.), Vernon Green (VP), Lyle Mayer (Secretary), Fred Luvisi (Treasurer), Glen Hughes (Measurer), Ellen Parry (Director), John Ritter (Director), Adam Mazurkiewics (Past President), and Tom Schock (Honorary Director) to the 2011-2012 Governing Board. You can find the list of officers and their contact information on the Class Officers page, which always has a link on the main menu.
Fleet 19 (Eugene, OR) and Eugene Yacht Club will be hosting the 2012 Class Championships (aka SantanaFest) July 23 thru July 27. This event is scheduled to immediately follow Eugene Yacht Club's One Design Invitational Regatta (July 21 & 22), which sailors are encouraged to attend as a "tune up" event. The championships is being organized similarly to past events: Monday will include boat measuring, Tuesday will include practice race(s), with racing Wednesday thru Friday. And plenty of great social events through-out.
