Memorial Day Regatta
May 23-24th

The 2009 Memorial Day Regatta hosted by the Eugene Yacht Club was a memorable event. A very unusual Oregon spring with sunny skies but light winds made for very flukey conditions for the 21 boat S20 fleet at Fern Ridge Reservoir. Saturday’s racing only yielded one race/with Jason Crowson (SeaBear of Richmond YC)/Gerald Skeen (Bimbo from Eugene YC)/and Chris Winnard (Disaster Area from SWYC/CYC) leading the pack after Day 1. The entertainment/which was organized by EYC’s party legend/Don Erickson/made up for tricky conditions on the course during the day. On Sunday/the winds finally piped up to allow us to get three more races in.
Congratulations to all the racers for a very fun and memorable regatta.
