S20 One Design & PHRF seminar

What started out to be a day of rain and overcast skies turned out to be a
glorious NW autumn day on the water for the participants in this inaugural one
design & PHRF seminar.
The group met at Anacortes YC in the morning for a discussion on boat speed and
tactics given by the seminar coach Andrew Kerr and then adjourned to the dock to
look at rigging and boat handling techniques on Steve Orsini’s S20 “Inferno”.
The afternoon saw the fleet participate in numerous starts and short course
races as well as practicing mark roundings. The starts got more & more
competitive as teams got more and more into the racing! Afterward the group
gathered back at the Anacortes Y.C. to review the on the water video tape and to
review the day.
The seminar went very well and we are looking forward to holding a future event
in Anacortes.

Santana 20 Class Association, Mack who assisted with running the races, and
Anacortes Y.C. for hosting us.
