2011 Firecracker Regatta & S20 NW District Championships

Thanks to Gordon Mattatal for providing the final results and photographs for the Firecracker Regatta.  This event also served as the NW District Championships.  Seven teams travelled from Fleet 19 (Eugene, OR) to race with the recently reinvigorated Fleet 27 (Klamath Lake, OR).  Gordon reports that the winds were light to medium.

Klamath Yacht Club (on Klamath Lake in Southern Oregon) invites Santana 20 racers to sail in the 2011 Firecracker Regatta which is also the 2011 S20 NW District Championships.  This event is sailed in a beautiful mountain setting with the nearby low hillsides channeling the winds for fairly steady sailing conditions most of the time. Average wind speeds of 8 to 15 knots make the southern end of Klamath Lake a great place to race.

The schedule of events is as follows:

Five races are scheduled, however as few as three races may be used to score this regatta. There’ll be no throw-outs.

Registration 4:00- 6:00pm, July 1 7:30- 8:45am, July 2

Skippers’ Meeting 9:00am Saturday then "On-Call Racing"

On-Call Racing" 9:00am Sunday
